Timeless Houses Renovation
In an age where progress often means demolishing the old to make way for the new, our PA Foundation is committed to ensuring that the charm, history, and craftsmanship of old homes are not lost to time or the desire for modernization. Instead of tearing down these structures to make room for new builds, we aim to preserve their value, character, and cultural significance by collaborating with community, architects, designers, and builders to transform them into modern, sustainable living spaces while maintaining their original beauty.

Our Vision
We believe that the beauty embedded within the walls of timeless homes are worth preserving, and that innovation can thrive in harmony with history. Our vision is to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, showing that with the right expertise and collaboration, older homes can be revitalized into spaces that are both functional and stylish—without sacrificing the unique architectural features that make them so special.
This old house from Küsnacht almost did not make it through the day when all the neighbours’ similar houses were destroyed and built into modern black boxes… Renovating old houses can be expensive, particularly in Switzerland. Many homeowners are hesitant to take on such projects, often perceiving them as complicated and full of compromises. However, demolishing an old house not only destroys the value already invested, but also erases its unique charm and contributes to unnecessary environmental waste.
PA Foundation’s Approach

1. Collaboration Across Disciplines
Our approach is rooted in the belief that preservation isn’t just about keeping the past alive; it’s about enhancing it for the future. By bringing together experts from various fields – architects, interior designers, builders, engineers, and sustainability specialists – we ensure that every project is a fusion of the old and the new. These professionals work closely with homeowners to not only respect the home’s history but to integrate the latest technologies and design trends, making the space more energy-efficient, comfortable, and long-lasting.
2. Sustainable Modernization
We understand that modern homes need to be more than beautiful – they need to be functional and sustainable. Our foundation advocates for energy-efficient solutions like proper insulation, green building materials, and smart technologies that reduce environmental impact. Preserving an old home doesn’t mean sacrificing modern comforts. Our goal is to create homes that are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and built to last, while keeping the spirit of the original design intact.

3. Respect for Craftsmanship and Design
One of the key aspects of preserving old homes is honoring the craftsmanship and materials that made them unique. Whether it’s original woodwork, masonry, or period-specific fixtures, our foundation ensures that these elements are either restored or carefully incorporated into the new design. In cases where original materials have deteriorated, we aim to source similar, high-quality materials to ensure the home’s authenticity remains intact.
4. Community Engagement and Education
We also focus on educating homeowners, developers, and the general public on the value of preserving heritage and timeless homes. Our foundation shares our resources on how to care for older houses, make sustainable upgrades, and navigate the challenges of renovation. Through community events and collaborations with local heritage organizations, we hope to foster a broader cultural shift toward valuing and preserving our architectural past.
